A messaging app for closed circles — family, teams, close friends — built around photos and attachments instead of real-time chat. Every member of a group is part of that group; no public discovery, no typing indicators, no pressure to reply right now.
The client wanted a private messaging product for closed circles — family, teams, close friends — but explicitly not another real-time chat app. The brief was to remove the pressure of instant messaging (typing indicators, read receipts, the expectation of an immediate reply) while still making it easy to share photos and files inside a trusted group.
We built an invite-only group model where every member of a circle has full visibility into that circle's shared thread — no public discovery, no follower graphs. Photos, video, and file attachments are first-class content types rather than an attachment bolted onto a text-first interface. The app deliberately omits typing indicators and read receipts, so posting and checking in both happen on the user's own schedule.
