Non-Profit · Community Safety
An anonymous incident-reporting platform for a Winnipeg non-profit supporting sex worker safety — public submissions with no login required, and a trusted-member system gating who can search and view full report details.
The organization needed a way for community members to warn each other about unsafe individuals, without creating a public database that could put reporters — or the people named in reports — at risk. Submitting had to be as low-friction as possible, including for people without an account, while searching and viewing full details needed real access control, not just a login wall.
We built a Ruby on Rails platform with two access tiers: anyone can submit a report with no account required, but only vetted "trusted members" can search the list or view full report details. The site also surfaces non-digital reporting channels — a partner phone line and a downloadable paper form — for people who aren't comfortable reporting online.
